BYD Yangwang U7 with a 1,000 HP Engine

🟢BYD made a rapid entry into the luxury vehicle segment. The company today unveiled U7, the third model of the Yangwang sub-brand.

🔋Designed to produce over 1,000 HP with four engines, Yangwang U7 uses the Chinese company’s e4 platform and comes with a separate engine on each axle. It aims for superior comfort thanks to its handling, driving performance, and advanced smart suspension. The vehicle can most likely reach a range of over 600 kilometers with a 100 kWh LFP battery.

The luxury sedan will be in the 1 million yuan (~$140.000) price segment. It is expected to be officially put on sale within the year. The company had previously launched the range-extending luxury SUV Yangwang U8 and the performance-oriented supersport Yangwang U9. Another sedan model (Yangwang U6) is more affordable and has a drag coefficient of 0.195. It is expected to be launched this year.
