Nissan GT-R Powered by Solid State Battery

šŸ’°The Japanese company aims to achieve high-speed charging, low cooling needs, and high energy density with a completely solid-state battery. The company has set its cost target as $75 / kWh, but wants to take the first step with the GT-R project because initial costa will be a price much higher than this.

šŸŸ¢Speaking to Autocar, Nissan manager Giovanny Arroba confirmed that the Hyper Force EV concept, which they introduced last year, will be implemented by 2030 as a fully electric high-performance supercar. However, he did not directly name the GT-R.

šŸ”‹Announcing that it has designed the first solid-state battery cell in the lithium-metal type in 2023, Nissan is aware that there are many problems it must overcome on the way to bringing this technology to mass production. The fact that the battery life is currently limited to 200 charge-discharge cycles, the high cost, and the continuing need for development in production equipment are the biggest obstacles to Nissan’s commercialization of the solid-state battery.
