Swedish bus manufacturer Volvo Buses has unveiled two electric models in its 8900 series, measuring 12.3 and 14.9 meters.
The Volvo 8900 Electric, available with 272/544 HP motor options, can be ordered with different batteries ranging from 360 kWh to 540 kWh. It will hit the roads in Europe in 2025.
Featuring an NCA cathode battery, the chassis, and the motor assembly of the bus are manufactured by Volvo, while the body will be produced in Egypt as part of the collaboration between Egyptian MCV – Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles and Volvo.
With a capacity for up to 110 passengers in the longest version, the Volvo 8900 Electric incorporates active driving safety features aimed at protecting pedestrians and cyclists during operations.
