🟢Speaking at the CES2024 fair, Mercedes CTO Markus Schäfer announced that they have developed their latest internal combustion engine.
⚡Speaking to AutoWeek, the senior manager stated that a mild hybrid engine in Euro 7 standards to be used in the CLA has been developed within the scope of the Geely partnership and that this will be the brand’s last ‘new’ internal combustion solution.
🔋 Apart from this, the main topic of curiosity at the fair was the electric CLA. Developed on the MMA platform and featuring an LFP battery and 800V architecture, the new generation CLA will rival Tesla’s Model 3. Mercedes is very confident in its electric vehicle and aims for a large simultaneous sales operation in China, Europe, and America.
💰A 235 HP rear-wheel drive engine that will increase efficiency with a two-speed transmission and a range of up to 750 kilometers on the largest battery are among the most prominent features of the electric CLA. The electric sedan, whose price is unknown, is expected to appear in its mass-production version in the second half of 2024.
