A hydrogen bus with a range of 1,000 km is coming from TEMSA and Toyota.
Temsa and Japanese technology giant Toyota will jointly produce hydrogen fuel cell buses. The passenger bus will be sold in Europe by CaetanoBus, in which Toyota is a shareholder. It is expected to be officially launched in 2024.
The first bus will be based on the Temsa HD12 model. The company will use Toyota’s H2 Dual System technology. The bus can be filled with both 350 and 700-bar hydrogen. It is expected to offer a range of up to 1,000 kilometers on a single charge.
The hydrogen bus with two axles is expected to be on the roads in 2025. The longer three-axle model will go into production immediately after the first bus. The bus is jointly produced by Temsa-CaetanoBus.
Considering that hydrogen is needed to produce long-range electric models in the passenger bus category, Temsa also wants to make progress on autonomous driving.
